Prepare for an epic journey as we delve into the world of the Space Wolves and their legendary leader, Logan Grimnar! The Great Wolf's saga continues to inspire and awe, and today, we unveil a new Detachment that will unleash their ferocious might.
In the vast history of the Imperium, few have achieved the legendary status of Logan Grimnar. His deeds are the stuff of epic tales, and his leadership is unparalleled. The Space Wolves, known for their fierce prowess, find their ultimate inspiration in the Great Wolf himself.
But here's where it gets controversial... Da Red Gobbo, ever the elusive figure, has left us with some intriguing notes from the Warhammer Studio. Let's uncover the secrets of this new Detachment and see what surprises it holds.
The Saga of the Great Wolf unfolds when Logan Grimnar leads his packs into battle. Mighty deeds are guaranteed, and the sagas of the Space Wolves are enriched with each engagement. Among the sons of Russ, none can match Grimnar's instinctive authority and the way he wields his warrior prowess and war engines as one formidable pack. In his presence, every Space Wolf strives to be a champion of Fenris, driven by an unwavering determination to earn his respect.
Under Logan Grimnar's leadership, the Space Wolves' ferocity remains disciplined and focused. He directs the hunt with masterful precision, issuing relentless commands and orchestrating the battle like an apex predator guiding its prey. Where restraint is necessary, he ensures it's exercised, and when fury must be unleashed, he embodies it fully. Thus, the Space Wolves claim victory over any foe, and the legend of Logan Grimnar continues to grow.
This Detachment is open to all Space Wolves armies, but it's designed to encourage the inclusion of Logan Grimnar himself. With three powerful Hunting Packs, you can buff your entire army for a turn, re-rolling advances and charges, gaining a +1 to hit in shooting or melee, or turning your weapons into lethal sustained hits. If you bring Grimnar to the field, you can use one of these Hunting Packs an additional time.
The Enhancements offer a range of benefits, from giving a Wolf Guard Battle Leader the ability to grant Lance to his unit to allowing a Wolf Priest to force battleshock tests during the fight phase. A Terminator Captain can lead Wolfguard Terminators and enjoy rapid ingress for free.
The Stratagems focus on utility, allowing you to create Hunting Packs from any unit, move mounted or walker units through terrain and models, and enabling Adeptus Astartes units to charge even after falling back (and Space Wolves units to charge after advancing). You can also make a normal move after a Space Wolves unit has been shot. Offensively, you can increase the wound roll of your ranged attacks, and defensively, you can reduce the AP of incoming enemy attacks.
With this, we conclude our exploration of new Detachments for the year. But don't miss the quarterly balance update, also available today. Stay tuned to the Grotmas Calendar for more exciting lore, game rules, and hobby guides in the coming days.
