Attention all Pokémon Trainers! A fresh Ranked Battles season is about to begin, and it's your chance to showcase your skills and rise to the top! Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Ranked Battles Season 4 is here, running from December 17, 2025, to January 7, 2026. Get ready for intense, real-time online battles against trainers worldwide!
But here's where it gets controversial... You see, this season offers a unique reward: Baxcalibrite, an item that can't be obtained through regular gameplay. It's a powerful tool to Mega Evolve Baxcalibur, and it's yours for the taking if you reach Rank S! And this is the part most people miss: there are also Mega Stones up for grabs! Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, and Greninjite will be redistributed as promotion rewards, so you can Mega Evolve your Chesnaught, Delphox, and Greninja.
So, how does it work? Well, each battle earns you points based on your performance, and these points raise your rank. You start at Rank Z, and with each victory, you climb the ladder towards the ultimate Rank A. Along the way, you'll unlock three types of rewards: battle rewards, promotion rewards, and season rewards. Battle rewards are given after each match, promotion rewards when you advance in rank, and season rewards are based on your final ranking.
Now, let's talk about the eligible Pokémon. For Season 4, you can register Lumiose Pokédex No. 001–227 and Hyperspace Pokédex No. 001–112. Your Pokémon can be anywhere from Lv. 1 to Lv. 100, but they'll automatically be set to Lv. 50 during battles. And remember, no duplicates!
As for held items, your Pokémon can carry them, but no double-dipping!

- Rank A: Gold Bottle Cap ×3, Bottle Cap ×5, Seed of Mastery ×3, Big Nugget ×1

Starting a Ranked Battle is easy. Just follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
- Press the X Button to open the main menu.
- Select Link Play.
- Choose Ranked Battles.
To receive your in-game season rewards, you must finish at least one match with a win or loss during Season 4. Then, after the season ends, follow these steps:
- Launch your Pokémon Legends: Z-A game.
- Press the X Button to open the main menu.
- Select Link Play.
- Choose Ranked Battles.
